In current market, almost all the enterprise solution providers are choosing Linux as de facto operating system. Looking into significant growth in Linux deployment, NEC HCL System Technologies has established a dedicated centre for excellence in Enterprise/HPC Linux. The group is known as “Linux Enterprise and HPC Group”.
The group provides solutions in and around Linux kernel (for enterprise domain) and storage area. The group has rich industry experience in Linux for Enterprise and High Performance computing domain. The primary strength of this group is the utilization of the OSS (open source software) for cost effective solutions. The group has extensive experience of working on various processors, like IA32, EM64T, IA64, AMD64, Intel VT-x, Intel VT-I.

Focus areas of this group are as follows:

Contributions in various OSS projects related to Linux kernel

Expertise in development of various kernel development/debugging tools like crash dump, kernel debuggers, kernel profiles etc.

Expertise in kernel enhancements/development, testing, and performance analysis

Expertise in Kernel block IO layer customization (including SCSI) for large enterprise/HPC solutions
|

Expertise in Distributed File systems and performance improvements
|

|
Experience in product engineering for large distributed storage solutions (targeted for very huge data centre and grids)

|
Expertise in development on virtualization technology (Xen, Intel VT)
|

|
Work experience on various Linux distributions like SUSE, Redhat Enterprise Linux, Miracle Linux etc.

Domain skillset of this group are as follows:
- Linux kernel programming (expertise in at least one kernel subsystem is required) and debugging
- C, Shell scripts
- Storage experience, expertise in C++ on Linux
- Very good logical and analytical ability.
